First make sure you have upgraded to QuickIM 2.0

If during the sign on process, you get an error message related to network issues, it might mean that either your TCP settings are incorrect or you are not under good GPRS coverage. To configure properly TCP settings (useful if you are not using a corporate BES), read http://www.quickim.com/forum/ftopic60-blackberry.html. If you believe you already have correct TCP settings and good network coverage (for example you have another web application such as a web browser that works), it might mean that your mobile network operator has blocked some network ports.

You need to make sure you entered your TCP settings properly as explained on this page:
http://www.quickim.com/products/mobile-phones/blackberry/quickim-user-guide.html

If you don't know what are your TCP settings, you can try the GPRS settings from this page http://www.quickim.com/support/gprs-settings.html

If this does not work for you. You'll need to contact your mobile operator and get the correct TCP settings. You'll need to ask them to assist you in configuring a correct GPRS profile for your phone to use internet services.

One way to get assistance from your mobile operator (only they can help you with the network settings) is to borrow another phone (not a Blackberry because BlackBerry does not use POP3/SMTP email services) with "standard" POP3/SMTP email capabilities, put your SIM card in this phone. Then contact your mobile operator as they should provide you free assistance on configuring a POP3/SMTP compatible GPRS profile on your new phone. Do not ask them to assist you directly with QuickIM as mobile operators don't provide assistance to third party applications. QuickIM can use the same GPRS settings as the POP3/SMTP service.

Once the settings done, you should have an up to date version of GPRS settings valid for your mobile phone similar to what you can find on http://www.quickim.com/support/gprs-settings.html

Now use the new TCP settings for your Blackberry device as explained on this page http://www.quickim.com/products/mobile-phones/blackberry/quickim-user-guide.html

Try to connect, if it still does not connect, try to close QuickIM, remove your phone battery and put it back in. Some BlackBerry devices have buggy network implementation which keeps sending network error messages once a network error occured. The only solution is a full reboot, which removing battery and putting it back will do.

In most situations, those steps should allow you to connect to the messenger server.
